Hybrid Command: Motorsailer Charter Operations
- Dual Propulsion: A masterclass in hybrid engineering. Equipped with both full sailing rigs and high-capacity inboard diesel engines for uncompromised reliability.
- Schedule Adherence: Unlike pure sailing vessels that are at the mercy of wind vectors, a motorsailer guarantees arrival times at your designated anchorages.
- Heavy-Displacement Comfort: Built with wider beams and heavier hulls than standard sailboats, providing massive interior saloon volume and superior stability in rough seas.
- All-Weather Capability: Features enclosed, climate-controlled pilothouses allowing the Captain to navigate securely during heavy weather fronts.
Capabilities of the Motorsailer Fleet:
- Extended Autonomy: The massive hull volume allows for oversized fuel and fresh-water tanks. Combined with robust generators, a motorsailer can operate off-grid for weeks without requiring marina support.
- Superior Deck Layouts: Because they are not strictly optimized for aggressive sail racing, motorsailers feature vast, uncluttered aft decks for dining and elevated sunbathing areas comparable to luxury motor yachts.
- Gamme mondiale : From traditional wooden builds navigating the Mediterranean to custom steel-hulled expedition motorsailers crossing the Atlantic, these platforms are built to handle the world's oceans.
Foire aux questions (FAQ)
1. Do you actually sail a motorsailer, or just use the engine?
Both. The standard operational procedure is 'motor-sailing'—running the engine at a low, fuel-efficient RPM while the sails are hoisted. The sails provide lift and stabilize the rolling motion of the hull, while the engine maintains a constant cruising speed. However, in strong winds, the engines can be completely shut down for pure sailing.
2. What is the main advantage over a pure sailing yacht?
Volume and reliability. A motorsailer typically has a much larger, luxurious interior and enclosed command stations. More importantly, its heavy-duty engines ensure you are never stranded in a calm (doldrums) and will always reach your next port on schedule.
