How To Cruise In Marmaris?

The sea surrounds Marmaris on three sides. And the town is linked to the western Datça Peninsula by a narrow strip of land.
In the strait where Keçi Adası Lighthouse (Fl R 2s 30m 5M) is located on its south, Yıldız (Nimera) Island on its north, and Inceburun Lighthouse on its tip (Fl 3s 9m 5M), the width is 750 meters at its widest. And the depth is approximately 38 meters.
There are no underwater rocks or submerged reefs in the strait. However, we advise you to pay attention to the submerged reefs in front of Inceburun Lighthouse (Fl 3s 9m 5M). Cruise 30 meters off of the shore.
The longest stretch of Küçük Boaz is 465 meters long. And it is located between Keçi Adas Lighthouse (Fl R 2s 30m 5M) and Sar Mehmet Point, with an average depth of 38 meters.
The high-rising island located in the middle of Küçük Boğaz is called Karga Adası.
And both sides of the island are deep, and its seabed is clean. So you can reach the Bay of İçmeler from this strait.
If you take the Keçi Adası to the boat’s starboard side and cruise towards the east, you can approach Marmaris Harbor by viewing the coastline.
" "
After a seven-kilometer walk through this coastal strip with luxury holiday villages, hotels, and summer houses, you will reach the city center, where Marmaris Beach begins.
This walking path is a good alternative for exploring the places and the coast between Marmaris and İçmeler and exercising on the way;)
You can anchor your boat at any place in front of strips of coastline. For example, just in front of the Marmaris Center. But be careful to keep your boat clear of the water sports and swimming areas.
The bottom is sandy. And it is easy to cast an anchor.
The area to the west of Marmaris wharf with location coordinates (36 ° 50’58 “K-28 ° 16’91” D) is the preferred accommodation site. We recommend anchoring here. There are many boats and yachts stand aloof. So take into consideration the entrance and exit courses of the boats.

Marmaris Municipal Marina

Marmaris Municipality begins at the end of the Marmaris coastal strip. It operates a large dock with a height of 30 cm. – 1 m. – 2 m.; with a depth of 3–8 m, and a length of 1,400 m.
The capacity of the dock is 300–350 boats/yachts. Electricity, water, ice, refueling, and wastewater services are available.
The dock has a dynamic atmosphere with many carpet stores, cafes, restaurants, and bars. And it is suitable for every type of boat and yacht.
The space is usually scarce during the summer.
Some shops sell yacht equipment in Marmaris. And most of them are in the industrial zone. Also, there are many competent boats and yachts manufacturing and maintenance-repair companies as well.
