יום 1: יציאה ממרמריס לעבר בוזבורון, בירת סירות העץ

I advise my guests to take a short taxi ride to ‘Eski Datça’ (Old Datça), a labyrinth of restored stone houses, bougainvillea-draped alleys, and rustic coffee houses once frequented by the famous Turkish poet Can Yücel. It is a profound, sensory experience.

Today is a voyage back in time. We cruise 20 NM westward, navigating right to the very tip of the peninsula where the Aegean Sea formally meets the Mediterranean. Anchoring in Knidos is an emotional experience for any mariner. You are literally mooring at the steps of antiquity. Tendering ashore, you can hike up to the Temple of Aphrodite. The panoramic view from the ancient amphitheater, looking down at your luxury yacht anchored in the historic circular basin, is a photographer’s dream. Day 6: Dirsekbükü – The Captain’s Secret

As our week gently draws to a close, we cross the gulf once more, heading towards the rugged mainland coast near the entrance of the Hisarönü Gulf. Our target is Dirsekbükü, a bay only accessible by sea. The 18 NM cruise allows us to explore a few hidden coves along the way, perhaps stopping near Bencik for a quick swim. Dirsekbükü is carved deeply into the mountainous terrain, shaped like an elbow (hence the name), providing absolute shelter from all wind directions.

The water here shifts from deep cobalt to striking turquoise near the edges. There are no roads, no cars, and no noise—just the sound of cicadas and the gentle lapping of water against the hull. We run a line ashore, tying off to a sturdy pine tree, securing the yacht mere feet from the rocks. It is an incredibly intimate way to connect with the sea. At night, with zero light pollution, the Milky Way reflects clearly on the mirror-like surface of the bay.
